Woodford Festival

Woodford Folk Festival:

Each this Festival attracts thousands of visitors each year and each end of year I have family groups coming to stay, last year from the UK this year from Darwin. It is close enough to stay in Maleny and drive each day. I know the History of due to being a Volunteer when it was in Maleny then when Bill took over the Management and land was bought in Woodford I went there as a Morris Dancer then last year I went to the New Years Eve concert and spent the day as well enjoying the great variety of top musicians and bands.
It is the largest non-profit music festival with 2000 artists with 400 acts across 25 venues..but what is staggering the amount of people who attend is 120,000!
It’s now coming up to the 31st year and the variety of talent ranges from, artistic, dance, cabaret, circus, comedy, workshops..like the drum workshop, debate, poetry, films, forums, street theatre, and Art everywhere. I used to help with the children Festival and this is extremely popular with the kids as it has such a variety of talented presenters. Danielle Poidomani is a well-known puppet maker and in collaboration with QUT’s Creative Industries 14 puppets will be made to take part in the opening and closing ceremonies.

The Woodford festival has a welcome ceremony and its famous fire Event as its farewell. It has an array of top Artists from around the world and if you want to see the weirdest Instruments with artists off incredible talent on them this is the place. These come from tiny countries, to Medieval times to old folk instruments from Europe.
the bio sector is not overlooked with experts from overseas to develop Bamboo

Forests in Woodford, training in preservation techniques, fertilising using Biochar techniques and making use of our waste water..since I am a green this is good education.
The food is International and has 15 speciality bars 66 stalls and they have to be selected to be top class before they get in. My friend Susan and her husband run Spaghetti Junction an Italian Restaurant at the Festival and they are one of the original food outlets. Due to my International travel I love this aspect of the festival and the great people you meet there so be sure to get into your wardrobe and fish out your hippy clothes and get along to this festival.
