The Glasshouse Mountains are Maleny’s National Heritage Treasures

The Glasshouse Mountains has the best information presented by a local man who has spent years researching the Glasshouse Mountains and put together a series of videos below I met him at a talk he gave to all the volunteers at Mary Cairncross Park.

This way you can pick the area that you want to check out the information of:

The Glasshouse Mountains positions for the best views:

When it comes to checking out the Glasshouse Mountains to see a full and best view of these mountains plus read information about them is to go inland from Glass house to the Glasshouse lookout. It has a close view of these Mountains.

The most spectacular is the view from a hot air balloon which I had once for a birthday gift of a Champaign breakfast.

McCarthy’s Lookout:

The view we all love is from the view platform on top of the Mary Cairncross building or from the lookout along Mountain View Road: McCarthy’s Lookout.

Nationally recognised Heritage listed:

It is unique to have a Nationally recognised Heritage listed Geographical landscape right on our doorstep and the mountains all can be climbed. Some are more difficult than others and I would not do any in the middle of summer as the rock gets very hot. Wear boots and correct clothing for the bush.

There is a variety of walks in around and on these mountains but to get a great through the  Glasshouse view the Old Gympie road from Beerwah to Beerburrum as well as through Glasshouse from the Steve Erwin Highway to the Old Gympie both have views that are spectacular

Something special is The Black Squirrel Cafe in Beerburrum this is fantastic..the food, coffee is top but also it has a quirky set up which is so comfortable and has a great ambiance.
