What is on for kids in/near Maleny during the School holidays:

Go get a dip at the Gardener Falls or the local Swimming Pool or take a walk along the Maleny Trail.

Dec13th, 14th and 20th as well as Jan 5th is kids craft time: Creative Station (Making Bugs)9.30am to 11am for 5 plus age group.

Dec 15th Christmas Storytime is on at the Maleny Library. The summer reading club is on again where kids read 5 items log these and hand into the library by 5pm Jan 16th 2017 so check out the site on www.summerreadingclub.org.au to find out about the prizes and activities for kids or call 54758989

A trip to the Maleny Diary to see the works is a new experience or go see a kids ballet on Neverland at the community Centre from Dec 4th or Aladdin on the 10th.

For those parents want to attend: A parenting workshop on the Dec 8th with Mick Devlin 10 to 12pm at the Neighbourhood Centre

Dec 16th 10am to 2pm a Creative workshop for kids (meditation, breathing techniques, about chakras, candle making, painting and so much more)

Go see the Xmas Tree expo 18th onwards at the Uniting church this is a visual experience kids love this display.

Kids love to swim so a trip to the Kondalilla falls which involves a walk and then a swim/..past Monville near Flaxton

Go to the Aussy Zoo with free face painting 9am to 11am at 12 the Wildlife Warriors show and Pony rides this summer at the zoo.

The Woodford Folk Festival Kids Festival is fantastic and camping there makes it more fun for kids.

Kids love food with taste so the Maleny Cheese Factory taste test and have a yogurt for breakfast or down at the Strawberry fields at Glenview they can pick there own.

Get the kids to view the wildlife and birds on the walk through Mary Cairncross on Mountain View Road on way into Maleny and feel a snake skin in the Visitors education centre then see the view of the Glasshouse and learn about them from the lookout at McCarthie’s Lookout further along the Mountain View Road

A trip to the Botanic Gardens to see and hold the birds and wildlife in the new section on the 233 Maleny- Stanley River Road

Just down the hill near Landsborough is the Big Cart Track at 2310 Steve Erwin Way and this can be enjoyed in the evening when its cooler Friday and Saturday night. Then just up and also explore the wetland park next door. If you have a canoe or just want a picnic, play in the sand or have a canoe then there is the Baroon Dam in Maleny or Ewan Maddock Dam near Landsborough


This Summer holidays explore the wonderful world of insects, arachnids and bugs with Art Bugs workshops for kids and young people at the Arts and Ecology Centre from 14 December to 14 January 2017. Craft take-home treasures inspired by the creepy, crawly creatures that inhabit our coastal ecosystems:
